Walton Hall

14-15 September

As part of this event at Walton Hall & Gardens, we commemorate the events of 1648 when the Scottish Royalist Engager Army were defeated by Parliamentarian forces at the nearby Warrington Bridge and Winwick Pass.

The event is to be held over two days (Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2024) between 10:00am and 5:00pm, during which there will be a Living History encampment comprising of 17th Century-style tentage with members recreating civilian and military activities and skills of the period.

There will be drill displays at 12:00 noon showing visitors to the Hall & Gardens various aspects of 17th century military activities, such as pike, musket, cannon, drums and colours of the time.

This will culminate in a small skirmish at approximately 3:00pm, which will re-enact the combat that occurred in the local area during the English Civil War.

This event is free of charge to the public.
