Royal Hospital, Chelsea

27th – 28th September

On 27th and 28th September, between 1000-1600hrs, the Earl of Essex’s Regiment of Foote are representing the English Civil War Society at a History Street event as a collaboration between the Chelsea Hospital and the National Army Museum.   For this event, Essex’s are presenting a small Sutler / Pedlar tent, together with a Gaming tent of the 17th century period, with costumed and experienced members, showing some of the non-Military side of the life in the period.

The location is just across the road from the National Army Museum (Royal Hospital Rd, London SW3 4HT), and will have groups from a number of periods forming the small History Street, which is the conclusion of the Chelsea History Festival (Chelsea History Festival 2024 | National Army Museum (nam.ac.uk)).

On the Friday, we will be hosting a number of children for a Schools day, with the Saturday being open to the Public, and you will be able to learn a wealth of knowledge, handle artefacts and replica’s from all periods, as well as have some fun along the way.
