Montacute House

Montacute House at sunrise

18th & 19th February

Marquess of Winchester’s Regiment will be demonstrating some aspects of life in Montacute House during the first part of the seventeenth century. Montacute House was completed in about 1598, by Sir Edward Phelips, a prominent lawyer.

Come and see how the important people who lived there may have spent their time and how the rest of the household had to work to allow this to happen.
There will be a chance to meet a Gentleman, possibly a friend of the Phelips family.
There will also be some of the servants, working away to feed him and to keep the house functioning.
